ABSTRACT

The project demonstrates a system that can be integrated into a home/building’s electrical system and allows one to wirelessly control lights, fans, and turn on or off any appliance that is plugged into a wall outlet. The system can be controlled from a Bluetooth enabled device such as a mobile phone or laptop, while a microcontroller powered box to act as the server. Thus the installation cost and hardware cost are kept to a minimum as most users already own the required hardware such as a mobile phone and desktop.

The Application is was developed by android studio V2.3.2. It can be downloaded from play store. This app can control our home appliance around 30-50 meters via Bluetooth. Even it has a small security system also available in the app.

PROJECT GOAL:

To build a robust hardware infrastructure and controlling to the home appliance by smartphone (Bluetooth enable devices).

PROJECT BLOCK DIAGRAM:

There are several methods that can be used to control a particular system. They may depend on many variables, whether electrical, mechanical or electronic. The most common ones are direct control, which can be manual or automatic. Automated processes provide comfort for operators, decrease risks, and increase productivity. In the development of remote control systems, the electronics Android development and control concepts make it possible to control any mechanism, system or interface from a computer, mobile device or tablet with a friendly interface.

Nowadays the smartphones and tablets are becoming powerful and with new and useful characteristics, and they will be a perfect match to develop control systems. The use of smartphones and tablets in development and research is not only found in control systems but in all areas, as they represent a significant business opportunity for manufacturers who consistently develop better hardware and operating systems.

This project introduces an Android development based application for Tablet or Smartphone that communicates with the home appliances through Bluetooth connection and good security as well.
